The November 2006 Dairy Sire Summary has arrived and Accelerated Genetics continues to maintain an active lineup full of leading genetic sires of all breeds. Improving proof information on current popular sires with the addition of high ranking new PACE releases highlight these evaluations.

Highlights
Topping the lineup for both Net Merit and TPI™ is PACE graduate 014HO04099 Billion. More type information on an additional 18 daughters now brings this high-ranking sire to the elite +2.00 PTAT level. Billion also increased significantly on his Udder Composite (UDC) at +1.63, and his Foot and Leg Composite (FLC) at +2.44. His daughters have rear legs that track very straight (+3.83 RLR), and walk on great feet (+2.55 FA).

This BW Marshall son from a Duster dam also sires tremendous rear udders. Billion’s increase for type coupled with his great production, longevity, low cell count, positive reproduction and outstanding calving ease results in a TPI of +1895, good for fifth in the breed. Billion is being used heavily as a sire of sons around the world.

Another BW Marshall son that seems to just get better with every summary is 014HO04026 Airraid. With 11 additional daughters on type, this PACE graduate is now at an impressive +2.89 PTAT. He ranks among the top 5 in the breed for type. Airraid increased significantly on his rankings for FLC, now at +2.69. His TPI of +1855 is good for top 10 of the breed. Airraid is truly a unique source of elite type and high production. His popularity will only increase with this added information.

014HO04048 Mission made nice increases on type and production this summary. He improved nearly +250 lbs. milk and +5 lbs. protein. On type, Mission is now over +1.50 PTAT, UDC, and FLC. He is up 38 TPI points and now stands at +1725, which will rank him in the top 25 of the breed. Mission sires well-balanced daughters who possess that ideal blend of dairyness and strength along with outstanding udders and feet and legs needed for today’s environments.

An increase of nearly +200 lbs. milk, +8 lbs. fat and +2 lbs. protein helped identify 014HO04110 Scoop as a sire moving in the right direction. He also improved his ratings for PL, DPR and SCS.

The type specialist, 014HO04056 Decker, maintained his elite status with +2.63 PTAT, +3.01 UDC and +2.52 FLC. He improved nearly +200 lbs. milk, +2 lbs. fat and +3 lbs. protein while increasing his PL rating.

New Sires

The highest-ranking PACE graduate from this run is 014HO04148 Nifty. Being a Bombay son from a VG-88 Zebo dam, Nifty provides a different sire lineup to our active lineup. Superior management traits help to bring Nifty to his high rankings. At +5.4 PL, +1.9 DPR and +2.67 SCS, Nifty ranks in the top five among all active bulls at Accelerated Genetics for these traits. Great udders (+1.60 UDC), especially fore udders, udder cleft, depth, and teat placement along with superior feet and legs (+2.07 FLC), make Nifty an easy choice for your breeding program. He is a logical choice for daughters of Ito, Foundation, Morty, Finley, Boss Iron, Britt and Capri.

014HO04132 Kilmer brings high components, great udders and good feet and legs as he joins the active lineup. He is a son of BW Marshall out of an Excellent Patron and an EX-94 grandam. Kilmer is among the highest component sons of his sire and is +.09% fat and +.07% protein. Look for Kilmer to be a good source for strength, width, udders and feet and legs. His 7% service sire calving ease makes him a good choice for heifers and milking daughters of Bullet, Ito, Pyrex, Joker, Nelson and Veto.

High production is very evident in the information of new release sire 014HO04191 Dan. This BW Marshall son is backed by two Very Good dams sired by Lantz and Converse respectively. The next two dams are both Excellent. At +2058 PTAM, Dan ranks 3rd in the Accelerated Genetics lineup for milk. He is +1.27 PTAT and sires cattle that are tall with correct feet and legs along with great rear udders. Dan is also 7% on service sire calving ease and would be a great mate for heifers and milking daughters of Lon, Fired, Capri and Juror Ford.

The Jersey lineup continues to be a source of strength for Accelerated Genetics. Tried and true favorites, <014JE00365 Rebel, 014JE00366 Blair, 014JE00374 Nathan, 014JE00394 Letterman and 014JE00396 Rampant are the solid base of our successful program. New release sire, 014JE00403 Adam, looks to follow in their footsteps. Adam is a Paramount son from a Very Good Bold daughter He sires balanced production and type and is positive for both PL and DPR. Look to use Adam on daughters of Blair and Future.

Thank You PACE Herds! For those of you that are PACE cooperator herds, we wish to thank you for your support and for helping to make the program a success. Without your help, it would not be possible to identify these outstanding PACE sires of all breeds. Please take satisfaction in your role in bringing these leaders to the forefront. We sincerely thank you for your trust in sampling these bulls and we look forward to continued success in the future.
